Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is Thursday May 15th. GAAD is an opportunity to think about the barriers that those who are disabled face when accessing technology. This can come in many forms, some of the most common are the use of colors that do not contrast properly, the lack of captions in videos, and cluttered screens. Looking to change jobs or wondering which career to pursue but unsure about the prospects of work in that field? Understanding the labour market will help you make evidence-based decisions to answer these types of questions.

This session will teach participants how to use the Statistics Canada website to find data that will help them understand their labour market and answer these important questions.

Introduction to Computer Skills Series with Diversecity
May 20th to 23rd, 2025 | 9:30 Am to 3:30 Pm

Learn the essential computer skills with this four-day in-person course offered by DIVERSEcity’s Skills Training Centre.

Basic Computer Skills

  • Get a basic understanding of computer parts and functions
  • Learn more about the Internet and email for job search and communication
  • Use Microsoft Word for writing resumés and letters
  • Get hands-on practice exploring job search websites
