Dehydrated Meals Workshop

Dunster, BC

This Sunday, June 16, from 2-4 p.m. the Dunster Station Museum will be hosting a workshop teaching how to dehydrate your own meals for backpacking trips. Hannah and Jeff Corbett will be demonstrating and offering samples of the many various meals that they prepare to go into the backcountry. Relying on their own food and recipes, they will share their do’s and don’ts they have learned after years of experience preparing their own meals for backpacking.

The cost of this workshop is $10 and treats will be provided. Please contact jillhoward1948@gmail.com to register.

Capital Project Grants Open Soon

Capital Project Grants are open on June 17. The updated Capital Projects Grant Guidelines are now available - and attached to this newsletter. All applicants are encouraged to review the updated Program Guidelines before submitting an application.

Mountain Matters

BC Parks Satisfaction Survey Now Open

The 2024 BC Parks Visitor Satisfaction Survey is available for completion until September 16. Through this survey BC Parks hopes to learn more about who is visiting parks, what activities they enjoy while visiting, what they like about parks, and where there is room for improvement. This information will be used to support future decision-making, training, and funding for facilities, trails, and other initiatives.

Park users are encouraged to Fill out the Survey and share with their networks.

Survey on Responsible Recreation in British Columbia

Please take 10 minutes to complete the survey for ORCBC and share it with your networks! The information gathered will help us develop targeted campaigns and educational materials. The deadline for participation is July 12th.

MEC Queer Gear Kits Open for Applications

MEC has launched Queer Gear Kits to aid 2SLGBTQIA+ community groups in expanding outdoor participation. This grant opportunity will be available annually, supporting four selected community groups each cycle. MEC invites all to join in fostering inclusive outdoor environments.
