Library Entrance, Newspapers Back

Our main entrance is no longer just an exit—feel free to enter and exit from both the main (south) doors and the Annex (north) doors.

If you come in the south entrance and need to return books, our interior book return slot is at the north end of the circulation desk, just under the counter.

You can once again read newspapers in the library. You'll find these in the Annex seating nook by the windows.

Next Teen Advisory Group: Sunday, November 28, 2:30 pm

We had another great Teen Advisory Group meeting this October—thanks, teens! We've shared your book recommendations on the TAG October Booklist for all to see.

Next Meeting

We will be hosting another TAG meeting on Sunday, November 28, from 2:30-4:00 pm.

This time we'll have *pizza*, a few activities, discuss our favourite books, and we'll spend some time planning a teen Dungeons and Dragons event and discuss other possible events for the new year (all are welcome to come plan with us—no D&D experience necessary!)

Teens are welcome to register with us via email or drop in to any TAG dates. Let us know if you're planning on coming and have a food sensitivity/restriction.

What is TAG?

TAG is for teens who want to help make the Library more teen-friendly, have an idea for a teen event, or want to recommend books for our collection.

Have your say by joining the Teen Advisory Group. Have fun, meet other like-minded teens, and gain community service hours and experience all at the same time!

Bring Your Own Book Club • Saturday, November 20, 12 pm

If you’re between 18-35 (or near there) and want to discuss books and meet other young Bowen Island book lovers, drop in to one or all of our Bring Your Own Book Club dates.

This is a welcoming group where you can rave (or rant!) about a book you’ve read or an audiobook you've listened to, and find your next great read.

(Even if you almost never read books, if you've read one at some point and have some thoughts about it, you're welcome here!)

See our October BYOB Booklist created from BYOBook Club members' recommendations at our October meeting.

We meet in the Library Annex. Masks are required indoors and COVID protocols will be in place, but proof of vaccination is not required.

One Last Week to Read the 2-Sentence Horror Story Collection!

Thank you to everyone who submitted a 2-Sentence Horror Story in October!

We had funny ones, terrifying ones, and some real thinkers! We even had a full IDLC class submit their works, and a number of your stories were featured in the October 28 Bowen Island Undercurrent (thanks, Undercurrent!).

Here are a few more from our Instagram Stories in case you're missing Hallowe'en already. Come in before Nov. 10 to read them all!
