Please complete the Qualtrics Survey link provided below to participate. https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_exIZyft3JyKDMea Department of Pathology Grant Application Practicum This workshop-based practicum covers a variety of topics in the domain of preparation and evaluation of competitive grant proposals within the context of a practicum wherein two collaborative seed grants of $15,000 will be awarded. Each two-hour hybrid session will cover critical aspects of generating a competitive research grant proposal. Sessions are tailored for early career faculty, clinical faculty who are new to research, and senior trainees in a transitional role. Using didactic and interactive methods, workshop participants will have a choice to experience either applicant or reviewer roles within the workshop. The overall objective is to provide critical core skills training PALM faculty and trainees that complements their program-specific objectives and facilitates synergy among PALM academics and clinicians. We will need at least 10 people registered to run the program, and registration will be capped at 50 participants for the 2024 cycle. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm | Online Register Free Statistics Advice and Data Analysis Opportunity for Students Under the supervision of Statistics professors, Statistics students in STAT 450, 540, and 550 will provide free project-specific advice and/or data analysis, including a formal written report, as part of their course activities during next term. **New this year**: This is the first year we are piloting involvement of STAT 540, which means that we are specifically targeting projects that involve high-dimensional biological data for those students. Projects for STAT 450 and 550, on the other hand, can be quite general in scope. Submissions are accepted now until Dec 15. To apply, send a 1-page project description (see sample) to asda@stat.ubc.ca and have your data ready for downstream statistical analysis (e.g. all preprocessing and QC steps completed) by Monday, January 8th.
