What is UBCO Life?

UBCO Life is your official UBC Okanagan newsletter, delivered twice per month to continuing undergraduate students. Each issue features academic and social events, upcoming deadlines, university news, contests, and other items relevant to student life and success at UBC Okanagan.

Turn up the Heat: upcoming home games

Varsity Sports on the UBCO campus gets underway before you even have a syllabus in your hand.

The Heat men’s soccer team are first up and have four matches before to Labour Day. If you are on campus head over to the gorgeous setting of the Nonis Field and cheer on your Heat squad!

As always, admission is free for UBCO students.

New look for Pride staircase

Unveiling event September 4 at 9:30 a.m.

The Pride staircase outside the University Centre has a fresh new look and will be officially 'unveiled' with speeches from the Deputy Vice Chancellor and the UBCSUO Pride Resource Centre Coordinator. The staircase was recently painted and updated with the addition of black and brown stripes along with the colours of the trans flag to reflect the diversity of the university’s LGBTQ2SIA+ community.

New student checklist: start of school reminders

If you're a new student arriving at UBC's Okanagan campus, don't forget to check the following things off your back-to-school list:

✓ Complete the New-to-UBC survey

The New to UBC Survey helps us learn more about who you are, why you chose UBC, and how things are going so far. Your answers help inform decision-making about programming and services at UBC. For participating in the survey, we will enter you into the draw for one of ten $100 Amazon gift cards. The survey closes Sep 3, so check your email for your survey invitation today!

✓ Complete UBC 101 online orientation

From textbooks to housing, medical insurance to degree planning, our online orientation provides a critical foundation of university and campus knowledge to help you succeed once you arrive on campus. All new students who complete the course by August 30 will be entered to win a prize at Create new student orientation!
