This Friday: Paint banners with us for Pride Night! 

Come paint banners and enjoy some snacks with the Pride Programmers and the 2SLGBTQIAAlly+ community this Friday from 3 to 4:45 pm in UNC 335. After, we’ll head to the Gym as a group to cheer on the Heat volleyball teams for Pride Night. Bring your Pride and your energy!

This Friday: The third annual Pride Night and beer garden

On Friday night, the UBCO Heat Volleyball teams will celebrate their third annual Pride Night when they take on the UFV Cascades at the UBCO Gym. Join us for a fun evening as we celebrate inclusivity in sport and on our campus featuring special giveaways, in-game contests and a beer garden.

The women's game gets underway at 5 pm followed by the men's game at 7pm. Don't forget, students get FREE entry to every Heat regular season game with their student ID.

Feb. 9 & 16: Move UBC – Indoor lawn games

Stop by the Ballroom between 12 and 1:30 pm on February 9 and 16 to play some indoor lawn games.

The Move U Crew will be facilitating the event and available to answer questions you may have about Move UBC, getting physically active and how to incorporate more activity into your days.

Feb 13: Financial wellness workshop – spending reset

Does your budget need a reset? Join us for ideas to stretch your funds for the remainder of the school year. We will explore budgeting tools and tips to save money.

Feb. 14: VP, Students listening session and lunch

UBC’s VP, Students, Ainsley Carry, is hosting a series of listening sessions to gather feedback from students on what’s working well at UBC, and opportunities for improvement in how the university supports students.

Listening sessions provide an opportunity to share your feedback with Ainsley and to ask any questions you might have.

All UBC students are welcome and encouraged to attend this listening session – no registration required. Pizza lunch will be provided.

When: February 14 from 12 to 1 pm
Where: Upper Level Collegium – UNC 335

Feb. 15: Move UBC – Glow yoga

Join UBCO Recreation for an energizing yoga flow in the dark. Please bring your own mat, glow sticks will be provided.

Doors open at 6:30 pm and yoga starts at 7 pm. Be sure to arrive with enough time to get your glow on and set up your mat!

Feb. 27: Join the Faculty of Management at Future of Health

Healthcare in Canada faced unprecedented challenges during the pandemic. Following years of turbulence, healthcare management is complex and evolving in response to environmental and technological factors. Join panelists for a discussion on the healthcare system, and what changes are required in the coming years.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Food and beverages will be provided. Registration is required.

Career Development and the SUO invite students from all programs and disciplines to the Career Fair on March 6 and 7.

Whether you are seeking something part-time, full-time, seasonal, or co-op, there are a variety of student opportunities available. You’ll have the chance to make connections and meet local employers from a diverse range of industries.

Prepare to put your best foot forward by attending Career Development workshops. Prep for interviews, polish off your resume, or chat with a Career Peer Mentor.

Black Student Success events – every Tuesday

To enhance the Black student experience and build community on campus, the Black Student Success team will be hosting weekly social events every Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm in the Upper-Level Collegium (UNC 335). They’re planning tons of exciting events like tote bag painting, bracelet making, study sessions, karaoke nights, and more! Join the Black Student Success team this Tuesday for a movie night and stay tuned with all their upcoming events by following UBCO Student Life on Instagram.

The intramural sport lottery is open until February 11 for all individuals and teams to enter. Available sports include basketball, dodgeball, futsal and volleyball.
