And despite her background in medicine, she struggled to access health care services.

Improving Palliative Care in the North Okanagan

Palliative care is the special care of a person whose life-limiting serious illness or disease cannot be cured. To understand needs, identify gaps and improve care in the North Okanagan, a team including patient, family and caregiver partners rolled up their sleeves for a series of meetings, interviews and surveys.
