 Staff Information

Announcement: Bryan Witt, Vice President of Provincial Clinical and Support Services

Message sent on behalf of Derek Miller, Chief Operating Officer, Saskatchewan Health Authority

Today, I am sharing news that Bryan Witt, Vice President of Provincial Clinical and Support Services, will be transitioning out of the Saskatchewan Health Authority to take on a new opportunity in the private sector as the Chief Operating Officer for the McKercher LLP law firm.

Bryan has served Saskatchewan as a health-care provider, educator, and leader for nearly 30 years and has made several significant contributions. He began his career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon and has held a number of leadership positions through the course of his career. During the pandemic, Bryan provided leadership as the co-commander of the Saskatoon Integrated Health Incident Command Centre, working closely with teams to respond to increased service demands. A highly respected member of the Saskatchewan Health Authority leadership team, Bryan cultivated strong professional relationships over his many years of service. Always putting the patient first, Bryan's warm and approachable demeanor were key elements of his leadership style.

We wish Bryan well in his new opportunity. His last day in the office will be January 23, 2026.

I am pleased to announce that Richard Dagenais has accepted the role of Interim Vice President of Provincial Clinical and Support Services while we conduct a recruitment and selection process.

Richard brings a breadth of leadership experience, most recently in the role of Executive Director of Diagnostic Imaging.

Thank you, Richard, for your willingness to step in and serve in this important capacity.

As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect and intentionally invest in your mental health journey. Here are some examples of meaningful mental health goals and resources from TELUS Health One (one.telushealth.com) to support your journey:

Staff Safety Talk – Understanding your Occupational Health Committee

Your facility’s Occupational Health Committee contact information can be found on our intranet page under Human Resources - Staff Safety. Committees meet regularly to identify and control hazards, communicate safety information, and rely on workers to share concerns, trends, and ideas so issues can be addressed early.

Read and share this week's Staff Safety Talk to learn more about how your Occupational Health Committee supports staff safety in your facility.

Reconciliation is more than a resolution

Many of us start the new year with a resolution to improve ourselves in some way. To make that resolution more successful and long term, studies show it's important to attach a value to it. The Saskatchewan Health Authority’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is reflected in our CARES values of providing compassionate, accountable, respectful, equitable and safe care.

On the last Friday of every month, SHA staff and physicians wear an orange shirt to honour the survivors and the children who never returned from residential schools.

Show your commitment to reconciliation and our values by ordering your own SHA orange shirt from our online store today. Proceeds from the sale of each shirt is donated to the Orange Shirt Society.

Click here for information on how to register an account on our online store. Use the group passcode SHA-ECM when registering.
