2026–2030 Financial Plan & 2026 Budget: Planning Underway

Work continues on the City of Kimberley’s 2026–2030 Five-Year Financial Plan and 2026 Budget. This plan will guide investments, major projects, and long‑term financial sustainability for our community.

A series of budget-focused Special Council meetings began in November 2025 and will continue through April 2026. These public meetings cover revenue policy, capital and operating budgets, and financial plan adoption. Meeting materials, reports, and links to watch online are always available at www.EngageKimberley.ca or by clicking the link below. All meetings are open to the public in Council Chambers and are streamed on YouTube @cityofkimberleybc or by clicking the link below. What happens after Council adopts the Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw? Property Tax Notices will be mailed to residents. Payment Deadline: July 2, 2026.

Peak to Platzl Winter Shuttle Update

You may have noticed some recent disruptions to the Peak to Platzl Winter Shuttle. These were due to temporary staffing challenges experienced by the operating partner. We’re pleased to share that these issues have now been resolved, and the shuttle is expected to operate consistently moving forward.

Kimberley Aquatic Centre Leadership Programs 

Thinking about becoming a lifeguard or building your water safety and first‑aid skills, or know someone who is? The Aquatic Centre is offering a full suite of leadership courses in 2026, including Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, and National Lifeguard. These programs provide essential training for anyone pursuing lifeguarding or looking to develop strong rescue and first‑aid abilities.

Each program includes required course materials, and all participants must meet the age and prerequisite requirements and attend all scheduled sessions. Adults are welcome! Details are available at the link below or by contacting Aquatic Centre staff at 250‑427‑2983 or kacinfo@kimberley.ca.

Course Requirements at a Glance:

  • Bronze Medallion: Must be 13+ or hold Bronze Star.
  • Bronze Cross: Must be 13+ and hold Bronze Medallion.
  • Standard First Aid (SFA): Must be 13+. Includes course materials and a pocket mask. 
  • National Lifeguard: Must be 15+ by the final day of the course and hold Bronze Cross + SFA
