BMS Peer Mentorship Program: First Virtual Session!

Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 | 8:30am - 9:30am (PST)

Hey first-year BMS Students, we're super excited to announce that the newly-launched BMS Peer & Academic Mentorship program established to support you in your first-year, will be having its first monthly virtual BMS Peer Mentorship session on Thursday, October 1, 8:30am-9:30am (PST)

Having completed your first two weeks of online classes, you may have questions about your courses as you adjust to your first-year at university, or are just generally curious about the opportunities you have as a UBC BMS student.

This is why the topic of the first session is “Meet your mentors! #AMA (Ask Mentor Anything)" where your six mentors will be sharing valuable academic and extra-curricular tips and also answer any questions you may have about your academics, passion projects, and opportunities. Questions that were submitted beforehand will also be answered.

Attending your peer mentorship sessions also provides a great opportunity to connect with your peers and BMS students in different years of the program.⁣⁣ Your 6 Peer Mentors - Vidushy, Katherine, Ky, Claire, Jueun, and Hui, are passionate about supporting your success - they are from all years of the program, and have diverse interests within media studies, skills, and hobbies. They look forward to seeing you all there!

📍 Location: On Zoom.
(
Zoom details have been sent to your email, please email arts.mediastudies@ubc.ca to retrieve the link to join the session if you didn't receive it.)
