ZEDI - Zoology Equity Diversity Inclusion 
 

The Zoology Equity Diversity Inclusion (ZEDI) committee is here to address concerns and promote EDI in the department. These concerns could apply to any group of individuals who work or study in our department, including undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, administrative and research staff, and teaching and research faculty. For example, last October ZEDI hosted an event for undergraduates on tips and approaches to get started in research at UBC.

  • Enhanced Email Security - UBC is introducing enhanced email security at UBC by implementing an AI platform across all UBC emails on Microsoft 365 to detect and block phishing, impersonation, and other malicious emails, through behavioral and anomaly detection. As phishing represents a significant threat to UBC, the AI platform serves to enhance UBC’s existing email security system and improve protection against phishing. 

    What’s Changing for You? Emails which are suspected to be malicious will be moved to your Junk folder. You can still check your Junk folder and if you are sure that an email is legitimate then you can move it back to your Inbox. Your Junk folder is automatically emptied after 90 days. You will not be notified and you will need to regularly check your Junk folder.

    Please note: Mail Sentry will still be available for emails filtered and quarantined by UBC’s mail-relays.
