Kimberley Avenue Corridor Improvements — Project Update No. 2 – August 10, 2026

Construction on the Kimberley Avenue Corridor Improvements project has begun. You have likely already noticed the closure of part of Ross Street and the section of Kimberley Avenue between the Platzl parking lot entrances.

Traffic and Access

Please continue to use Howard Street or Boundary Street to travel around the construction area. Norton Avenue also remains available as a route between downtown and the ski hill area.

Contractors will begin by installing the new sanitary sewer on the southwest corner of the project. This work will require temporary access restrictions to some Ross Street residences while sewer pipes and manholes are installed. Access will be restored as soon as the work allows. No sewer service interruptions are anticipated.

Ross A Street will remain accessible through the laneway from Gerry Sorensen Way.

What to Expect

Construction activity will increase this week, including additional equipment, personnel, excavations, and noise. Please continue to follow all posted closures and use caution around the work area.

Although this is anticipated to be a fairly straightforward installation, plans and traffic arrangements may need to change as old underground infrastructure is uncovered.
