City Invests in Priorities and Addresses Pressures

With a total of $711 million, the new budget prioritizes public safety, infrastructure renewal, core municipal services, and ways to reduce financial pressures on residents. Coquitlam is committed to maintaining and enhancing the services and amenities that residents value most, and balancing immediate needs with a long-term vision that supports a safe, vibrant and sustainable community for generations to come.

Supporting Tenants Amid Redevelopment
New Tenant Protection Bylaw to be Drafted in 2025

The City will be developing a Tenant Protection Bylaw for Council to consider in spring 2025. It will build on the City’s existing Tenant Relocation Policy, which requires developers to provide support to tenants whose rental buildings are slated for redevelopment. The proposed bylaw would strengthen the City’s ability to enforce compliance and seek remedies.

Renew Online and Secure Your Discount

Sign up for email invoices by December 10 to ensure you receive your 2025 dog licence invoice and qualify for the early payment discount before February 1. Avoid delays caused by the postal strike and keep your dog’s licence up to date.

The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
