JUNO AWARDS 2023 NOMINATION

Great news! Our recent Atma recording of Richard Strauss' Metamorphoses and Arvo Pärt’s 4th Symphony is nominated for JUNOS 2023, Classical Album of the Year, Big Ensemble. Congratulations to all the Musici and to the conductor Jean-Marie Zeitouni for this recognition. Winners will be announced at the JUNOS Gala on March 13 at Rogers Place in Edmonton and live on CBC at 8 p.m.

 

Don’t miss our next concerts on March 9 and April 13, at 7:30 pm, also at the Pierre-Mercure hall. In March, we will welcome violist and conductor Maxim Rysanov, in the 29th Symphony and the Concertante Symphony by W. A. Mozart with our solo violin Julie Triquet, and, at the end of the program, Malcolm Arnold’s Variations on a Ukrainian Theme.

In April, flutists Vincent Lauzer, Ariane Brisson and Caroline Tremblay will perform with concertos for flutes by Vivaldi and Telemann, the 2nd Suite for Orchestra and the 4th Brandebourgeois by J.-S. Bach, and the Syrinx by Debussy. We invite you to a great celebration of the flute: solo recorder, duet or with orchestra, solo flute, with orchestra or duet with the recorder.

A MONTREAL SCHOOL FOR ALL

Our project with A Montreal School for All ended nicely last Wednesday with 12 elementary classes attending a school concert at the Pierre-Mercure hall. It was 250 students between 8 and 12 years old who heard our Musici, directed by our conductor Jean-François Rivest, playing Beethoven’s 5th!
