Registered Social Workers Provincial Community of Practice: Truth and Reconciliation in Social Work Practice

📅September 24 🕑 2:30 p.m.  🌐 Register 📄 Poster

Presenter: Carrie McCloy, Faculty member with the Indigenous Social Work Program at the First Nations University of Canada.

This presentation will examine how colonial systems disrupted relationships with land, family, culture, and identity and will consider how social workers can support healing practices rooted in respect, responsibility, reciprocity, and connection. By appreciating the more-than-human world, we can explore reconciliation through ethical, relational, and land-based practices.

 Recognition and Appreciation

Registration and Information Services Appreciation Week

Throughout the week, we recognize and celebrate SHA’s Registration and Information Services staff for the essential role they play in every patient’s health-care journey.

Often the first point of contact, our staff welcome patients and families with compassion, professionalism and kindness while providing exceptional service. Behind every registration is a critical responsibility: ensuring patient identity, demographic and visit information is accurate so the right patient receives the right service at the right location. This information also flows into multiple clinical and non-clinical systems, supporting patient safety and continuity of care.

Every day, Registration & Information Services staff demonstrate accuracy, efficiency, attention to detail and an incredible ability to multitask.

Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to creating a positive experience for our patients, families, and visitors. We appreciate all you do!

College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan - 2027 License Renewal opens October 1

The College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) 2027 license renewal period opens October 1 and closes November 30, 2026, at midnight.

Taking a few steps now can help make the renewal process easier when it opens. Before October 1, registered nurses (RNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) are encouraged to:

  • Confirm you can access the CRNS Portal and the email account associated with your profile.
  • Review and update your Continuing Competence Program (CCP) learning plan.
  • Have eligible nursing practice hours ready to report for the period of December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026.
  • Activate your MyCNPS account if you have not already done so.

New for 2027: CNPS Professional Liability Protection Registration

Beginning with 2027 renewal, registrants will register and pay directly to the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS) for professional liability protection (PLP) and core services using the MyCNPS portal.

As a result, registrants will complete two transactions during renewal: one with CRNS and one with CNPS. Registrants should retain both their CNPS and CRNS receipts.
This process change does not affect the total cost of registration.

For more information, visit the CRNS License Renewal webpage and the License Renewal FAQs.
