THE HALIFAX ARMDALE REPORT

Community events and summer activities

Dear Neighbors,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the summer. As we embrace the warm weather, it's crucial to stay hydrated and practice safety in all your summer activities. Whether you're out for a walk, enjoying our beautiful parks, or spending time with family and friends, please take care of yourselves.

I'm excited to share that I will be re-offering in Halifax Armdale in the next provincial election. In 2021, I was honored to become the first Muslim MLA elected in Nova Scotia. After settling in Halifax as a Somali refugee, I dedicated nearly 20 years to serving our community with the Halifax Regional Fire Department.

One of the pressing issues we face is the housing crisis. It's heartbreaking to see our citizens homeless, and the lack of leadership in solving this issue is very worrisome. I've met with many of you to listen to your concerns and discuss ways to address this crisis. Together, we can work towards finding solutions and improving our community.

Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe, and I look forward to connecting with more of you in the days ahead.

Sincerely,

Access to Electronic Health Records

Nova Scotians can now access their health information anytime, anywhere through the YourHealthNS app.

After a successful three-month pilot project involving 15 family doctors and seven nurse practitioners across six clinics, the program has expanded electronic health records (EHR) access provincewide. During the pilot, over 13,000 patients experienced the convenience and efficiency of this digital tool.

With the YourHealthNS app, you can now:

  • View your medical history and lab results
  • Schedule and track appointments
  • Securely message your healthcare providers
  • Access important health information from the comfort of your home or on the go

This expansion represents a step towards a more connected and patient-centric healthcare system. You can download the YourHealthNS app in the app store. Nova Scotians without a mobile device can access YourHealthNS online.
