Delegations and Presentations

Audited 2024 Consolidated Financial Statement for consideration of acceptance and approval

Mario Piroddi, Partner with BDO Canada LLP, presented the Audited 2024 Consolidated Financial Statements to Council for consideration of acceptance and approval. The consolidated statement shows the City of Kimberley's financial position as at December 31st, 2024 and is in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards. Tourism Kimberley - Introduction and Update to Council

Tourism Kimberley Board Chair Tod Caton and Executive Director Andrew McNair attended Council to provide them with an understanding of the organization and their plans moving forward. Caton and McNair discussed why tourism matters to Kimberley and their balanced approach to visitation. Watch the presentation and Council discussion at the links above. 

Bylaws, Permits, and Policies

Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw 2785 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2786 - 200 St Mary Lake Road

Manager of Planning Troy Pollock and Planner Erian Scott-Iversen requested and received first and second readings of OCP Amendment Bylaw 2785 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2786, to facilitate a proposed residential development on a portion of 200 St Mary Lake Road. Council then directed staff to schedule an electronic public hearing for Bylaws No. 2785 and 2786 for the Regular Meeting of Council being held on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at 7:00 pm.

New Business

Transit Annual Operating Agreement and Transit Expansion Update

Manager of Planning and Sustainability Troy Pollock requested and received Council approval to execute the 2025-26 Annual Operating Agreement with BC Transit for the Kimberley Transit System. The report also provided an update on proposed transit expansion. 

Audited Draft 2024 Consolidated Financial Statements - Consideration of Acceptance and Approval

Chief Financial Officer Krista Waite requested and received Council acceptance and approval of the 2024 City of Kimberley Consolidated Financial Statements as presented by Mario Piroddi, BDO Canada LLP, at the beginning of the Council meeting. The statements will now be submitted to the Inspector of Municipalities as required under Section 167 of the Community Charter. See the full statements in the agenda package linked above. 

The Council meeting concluded at 8:13 p.m., at which point an In-Camera meeting was conducted.
