If you need to improve your level of French, there are courses available to help you!

The ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration du Québec (MIFI) offers free French courses for immigrants living in Québec. Discover the numerous courses offered.

The Université de Montréal's Language School offers credited French courses for all levels. The next and final placement test takes place on November 21 (registration until November 15)! For more information, consult the procedure to follow on their website

During the fall and winter semesters, Polytechnique Montreal also offers the course SSH0345 - Pratique du français écrit. It is for you if you already speak French and you wish to significantly develop the quality of your written expression (grammar, syntax, etc.).

Most students will need a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec for studies (CAQ), a Study Permit and a Temporary Resident visa or an electronic travel authorization. These procedures can take several months depending on your nationality, your country of residence and the place where your application will be processed.

You cannot come to Canada if you do not have all the required immigration authorizations. Pay close attention to possible arrival dates for your studies at Polytechnique.

IMPORTANT: Plan to arrive in Montreal at least two weeks before the start of classes, which is on January 8, in order to settle in properly.
