We remind boaters that a sticker or a wash certificate is required for any watercraft operating on the lake whether motorized or not. Owners who registered on the Citizen Portal last year to submit their initial application will begin receiving their renewal emails as of March 23. When renewing your sticker, please note the following: - Any new watercraft, motorized or not, must be registered.
- Proof of residency must be provided at the time of renewal.
- Stickers will be sent by mail. It is therefore important to ensure that the mailing address listed in your Citizen Account is correct.
- When renewing, you may request an access code for the washing station, which will be provided by the Town.
- Non-residents who rent a dock must go to the Town Hall to pay the fees associated with their sticker.
- The stickers will be valid for a period of two years, covering 2026 and 2027.
Please note that new sticker applications may be submitted starting April 6, 2026. This process is intended for individuals who did not apply through the Citizen Portal in 2025, as well as those who submitted an application in paper format only. | Second Draft Project 596-20: Continuing Process of Approval by Referendum | On March 2, 2026, Council adopted the Second Draft Project of Bylaw 596-20 modifying zoning bylaw 596. Sediment carried by rainwater from construction sites is among the main pollutants of our lakes and waterways. Brown water is not normal! Even if you are far from the lake, eroded sediment will end up in it! Let’s remember that it is illegal to discharge sediment into a lake or a watercourse. Before starting your construction or renovation work, put erosion control and stormwater management measures in place: - Keep as much vegetation as possible around the site
- Protect stockpiles of excavated soil
- Stabilize access roads
- Revegetate exposed soil promptly
- Install sediment barriers
Regularly review how effective your measures are, especially after heavy rainfall and after site modifications, and adjust them as needed. Consult the practical online guides to learn about all the techniques suited to your project: - Erosion Control Guide for Construction Sites (In French)
- Environmental Management Guide for Ditches (In French)
Together, let’s protect Brome Lake! | Our brand new bike patrol program is launching this summer and we need you! We're looking for motivated volunteers to join our very first bike patrol team! What is the patrol's mission? - Promote safe and respectful trail use
