Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire and Emergency Services - Fire Safety Tip: Keep Fall Decorations Fire-Safe

Decorating for fall or Halloween? Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire & Emergency Services reminds residents to keep seasonal decorations away from heat sources.

Dried leaves, cornstalks, paper decorations, and other combustible materials can ignite quickly. Keep decorations well away from fireplaces, heaters, light bulbs, and other sources of heat, and choose battery-operated candles or lights instead of open flames.

A few simple choices can help keep your home and celebrations fire-safe this fall.
