2022-2023 COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT

The Community Impact Report for 2022-2023 is now available.
These statistics only represent a fraction of the difference Vincentians
make every day across Canada, as being present, listening and
ready to help is our greatest impact, and that’s not measurable.

Thank you for everything you do for your neighbours.

SPIRITUALITY

BLESSEDNESS AND HOLINESS

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain: and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. … Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5.1-.3, .6-.8)

In his June 12, 2023 homily, Fr. Felix Anthony, O.Carm., Associate Pastor of the St. John of the Cross (Mississauga, ON) parish said: In the full passage, Jesus in nine times used as well as began with the word Blessed. We also often talk about ourselves or others as being blessed. Blessedness is, however, not something we acquire or receive. It is something we already are – bestowed by the Creator at our creation. Some acknowledge they are blessed while others have not recognized their blessedness. Those others need to be deeply aware of such.
