ZOOLOGY GRAD Program:

  1. Understanding your Zoology stipend workshop - Tuesday, September 16 at 12pm in Biosciences 4223 (West Wing)

    Lunch will be provided! RSVP here

    Mimi will be hosting an info session for Zoology grad students to give an overview on how student stipends are organized and set up for each academic year, the difference between your different funding sources, common problems we may run into with different funding sources, and what you should do if your pay is incorrect (hint: contact Mimi).
     
  2. Course Registration Reminders!

    - The add/drop deadline is Sept 15 for Term 1 courses, Sept 22 for year-long winter session courses.

    - If you want to take Directed Studies (ZOOL 500), complete the form and send it to zool.gradprgm@ubc.ca by Sept 8

    If you want to audit a course, please complete the G+PS registration add/drop form

  • Biology TA orientation on September 3rd (Wednesday) in Michael Smith Laboratories Rm 102:
    - First hour of TA onboarding is mandatory for all Term 1 Biology TAs (9AM).
    - This will be followed by a new workshop on Supporting Student Wellness hosted by our Science Embedded Counsellor, Stephanie Seo (10AM) and an experienced TA & faculty panel (11:20AM). Feel free to drop into these sessions even if you're not TAing this term.
     
  • Remind everyone about the SESs:
    "The Biology Program Science Education Specialists (SESs) are here to support you in developing and implementing your ideas for teaching. This self-enrol Canvas site was co-created by students, faculty, and staff within the UBC Faculty of Science and includes key definitions/concepts, frequently asked questions, teaching materials, resources, relevant articles, and more!
