Archives Update

The latest donation of Wright family photos is now accessible on the Archives database. The Wright family occupied a good portion of farmland on the west side of 56 Street, north of Highway 17. Smith Wright was continually active in the community and developed his own photos. The photos show scenes of the Wright Bros. farm, May Day events, vacationing at Boundary Bay, and other interesting subjects.

Work is progressing on the Mitchell Family Fonds, an ample collection documenting the Mitchell family of Crescent Island. This will be the largest collection to be processed this year. Already accessible are the Harry Mitchell farm journals, which document the daily work at the Mitchell farm and give us insight into the family’s lives and the larger community.
