IMPORTANT NOTICES

Municipality of Crowsnest Pass responding to cybersecurity incident

The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass recently identified a cybersecurity incident affecting our systems. We are taking this seriously and have specialists helping us investigate what happened and its full scope, including whether any personal information was affected — that isn't known yet. Some services may be temporarily delayed while we work through this. We'll share updates and let you know how to get more information if needed.

Fire restriction now in effect

A Fire Restriction is in effect for the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, effective 9:00 a.m. (Mountain Time), July 29, 2026. This replaces the Fire Advisory issued July 20. It will stay in place until conditions improve or further escalation is required.

Why this matters

Dry conditions and rising fire danger led to this step up from Advisory to Restriction.

What's prohibited

  • Outdoor open wood fires on public lands, including backcountry and random camping areas
  • Any open burning on private land, other than a contained, screened campfire
  • Fireworks and exploding targets

What's still allowed

  • Safe wood campfires on private land, including provincial campgrounds with a designated fire ring
  • Backyard fire pits with screens
  • Propane fire pits and natural gas-powered appliances
  • Charcoal and wood-burning devices with an on/off switch (barbecues, smokers, stoves)
  • Indoor wood fires
  • Open flame oil devices

OPERATIONS

Water line upgrades are underway in Bellevue

Starting today, contractors will be upgrading water infrastructure in southeast Bellevue (south & east of Main Street). If your property is directly affected, contractors have already been reaching out — and they'll keep you updated as work progresses.

Here's what to expect:

  • Road work and temporary detours in some areas
  • Contractor contact as work moves through your area
  • No anticipated water outages (temporary lines will be in place)
  • Work continues through the summer
  • Updates to follow if anything changes

Thanks for your patience as we invest in Crowsnest Pass infrastructure. Questions? Get in touch — Operations at 403-562-8833.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES (FCSS)

August safety & enforcement focus

Traffic safety spotlight

Speed, aggressive driving & back-to-school safety

Officers continue targeted enforcement for speeding and aggressive driving this month. Safe streets benefit everyone, whether you're behind the wheel or on foot. Expect increased patrols, especially in high-traffic areas.

🚗 Slow down. Watch for reminders to reduce speed, particularly in busy areas around town.

🎒 Back to school. Students return to class soon. Officers will focus on school zones, crosswalks, and general road safety near schools. Drive with extra caution during pick-up and drop-off times.

Small changes behind the wheel keep our kids and neighbours safe.

Bylaw focus — unsightly premises & water use

Summer is a good time to check in on property upkeep and water use.

Unsightly premises
- Keep yards tidy and clear of debris
- Store items so they don't create a nuisance for neighbours

Water conservation
- Use water wisely during the summer months
- Follow any watering restrictions in place

Officers will follow up on complaints in these areas throughout August.

Report bylaw concerns: 403-562-8833 or online at crowsnest.omnigo.one/CESIReportExec/olr/main.aspx

PEAKS TO PINES RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION & CROWSNEST CRUISERS

PEAKS TO PINES RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION

Heartfelt thanks to EVR and the Bellevue Legion for their support of AED machines for the Lodge, Tecumseh Manor, Westwind Apartments, and a portable one for the bus! These life-saving devices are very much appreciated…for residents, staff, and family and friends who visit! Be sure to check out our website at www.p2pra.ca! We’ve added photos of the BBQ held in June and spotlights. You’ll also find information about volunteer opportunities, an ‘In Memory’ page, a list of donors, and much more!

We are a registered charity and issue tax receipts for donations of $25 or more. Name plates are mounted on a Wall of Thanks in the lobby of Peaks to Pines Seniors Lodge for donations of $100 or more. Logos of donors may be placed on the Crowsnest Cruisers van for donations of $5,000 or more to that service. Donors are also recognized on social media. We accept donations by cheque, cash, or e-transfer to peakstopinesresidents@gmail.com.

CROWSNEST CRUISERS

The Cruisers provides assisted transportation for older adults (50+) and persons with mobility challenges locally throughout the Crowsnest Pass and out of town to Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, Lethbridge, and Calgary. Call Marie @ 403.583.5598 to book your local ride and Darcy @ 403.583.5587 for out-of-town trips.

Local hours of service are:

  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm. Please book appointments before 2:00pm on these days.
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Rider fees are:

Local trips $10 one-way, $20 return, with $1 for each additional stop. Same-community rider fees are $5 one-way, $10 return!

Stamp cards for local trips are available for $25 from the driver or at the General Store at the Peaks to Pines Seniors Lodge…a great gift idea!

Out-of-town return trips: Pincher Creek $35; Fort Macleod $75; Lethbridge $100; and Calgary $200. Subsidies are available for individuals who qualify. If possible, please try to arrange appointments in Pincher Creek on the second Tuesday of the month and in Lethbridge on the third Thursday of the month. Your help with this is appreciated!

The out-of-town trips have doubled since January 2026, so we are in need of volunteer drivers! If you have a Class 1, 2, or 4 driver's license (or are willing to obtain one) and are able to help us once or twice a month, we’d love to hear from you! Honorariums are paid to volunteer drivers.

The Cruisers is also implementing a NEW service model, where volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to take ambulatory riders to out-of-town appointments in Pincher Creek, Lethbridge, and Calgary. If you have a valid Class 5 license and are willing to drive once a month, we would appreciate your help! You will be reimbursed mileage. Call Darcy at 403.583.5587 for more information. More information about the Cruisers is on our website at www.crowsnestcruisers.com.

Bellevue Fireman's Park

BOOKING INFORMATION: As of May 2026, The Bellevue Fireman's Park Society is implimenting a new $50 non-refundable booking fee for all park bookings.

This fee is meant to deter groups from booking and cancelling (often last minute) resulting in other groups not having access to that date. It is also meant to deter groups from utilizing the space and "forgetting" to donate for their usage.

In addition to the fee, we ask that user groups donate an amount (not set) based on # of users, duration and event type. If you are unsure and need guidance on donation amount, reach out to the booking coordinator.

This additional cost is not meant to be cost prohibitive for use. If the fees are outside of your group's budget, please reach out to the booking coordinator to discuss. We believe that the park should be a financially barrier-free destination. Keep in mind that the park is managed and maintained with volunteer hours and donated funds by user groups.

NOTE: The Fireman's Park is a municipal park (walk on users) and managed by the Bellevue Fireman's Park Society. As it is a municipal park, walk on traffic is allowed to enter during park hours. We ask that groups who have booked the park and walk on traffic respect each other while utilizing the park.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Bellevue Fireman's Park Society (BFPS) is looking for a couple energetic and community-minded volunteers to join our board.

The BFPS is responsible for maintaining the park and managing group bookings. As a group we are hoping to breathe some new life into the park and with that we forsee some planning, fund acquisition, advocacy, and project management. Do you need experience in all/any of these things...not necessarily but could be very helpful.

Hate being on a board but want to help??? Let's chat!

For more info, contact Randi Lynn @ 403.707.8574.
