A new collective agreement (2020-2023)

Your new contract that we signed on January 25 with the Québec government will come into force on January 30. The following premiums will be paid retroactively as of January 16:

• the CHSLD premium, extended to include professionals,
• the premium for supervising student trainees,
• two premiums for youth centres.

We can now give you the dates on which salary rates and scales and premiums will be adjusted, and the deadlines for the lump-sum payments owed to you, including retroactive salary, which we negotiated.

Information and training

We will be incorporating the new texts in the collective agreement and formatting the agreement over the next few weeks, so we can get the new contract to you as quickly as possible. We will also prepare a document highlighting the key items in the new agreement and their impact on your working conditions. Your local representatives will be offered training as well, to help them guide you in defending your rights and obligations.

A new cycle is starting

The process that began in October 2019 is now coming to a close. We want to express our heartfelt thanks for your active involvement in these contract talks, which unfolded under difficult conditions. Your unprecedented mobilization helped improve the working conditions of all professionals and technicians in the health and social services system. Your sacrifices had an impact, even after some of the other unions ratified their agreements in principle last spring and signed their new collective agreement last fall. You can be proud of that.

We’re now looking to the future, as we have to table our set of demands for the next round of negotiations in the fall. Once again, the APTS will be fighting to ensure that everyone we represent, in all job titles and all areas of the health and social services system, obtains due recognition for the value of their work. Our members’ diversity is our strength. Together, we’ll attain the highest gains for professional and technical employees.
