Health Sciences Centre Update We're closing in on our fundraising goal for the new, state-of-the-art Health Sciences Centre at BCIT, the first in a number of dynamic and innovative teaching and learning spaces supported by the BCIT INSPIRE Campaign. The new Centre, which will accommodate approximately 7,000 full- and part-time students, will be a four-storey, 106,660 sq. ft. net-zero carbon emission building, and the most sustainable building on the Burnaby campus. Now, a BCIT-developed COVID-19 course is in high demand across North America, with more than 8,500 healthcare workers already registered. | | BCIT Alumni Association pledges $1M to INSPIRE Campaign This historic donation, the largest in the history of the BCIT Alumni Association, will contribute to the development of the first-ever BCIT Alumni Centre, to be housed within the BCIT Student Association's new Student Hub building on the Burnaby campus. It will provide a home for alumni to reconnect and network, while strengthening the vital connections between students and alumni. Read more. | | Province invests in mass timber project for new student housing at BCIT Melanie Mark, British Columbia Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Training announced the new student housing project at BCIT, valued at nearly $115 million, marking the first investment in new student housing at BCIT in 38 years. The development will support the construction of a 464-bed, 12-storey student housing project at the BCIT Burnaby campus.
