En-tête Aéro Montréal

Aéro Montréal's mission is to mobilize stakeholders in Quebec's aerospace ecosystem to support its global reach, innovation capacity and growth.

// MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear members, dear partners,

I am very excited to announce that the next International Aerospace Innovation Forum will take place on May 21-22, 2024 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. After a memorable edition in 2022, which brought together more than 1,500 participants, we are preparing to take off for new horizons in 2024, with the United Kingdom as the country of honour.

The United Kingdom's leading position in aerospace and advanced air mobility makes it a natural choice as the country of honour. Its contributions to the industry are impressive, ranging from state-of-the-art aircraft manufacturing and innovative propulsion systems to pioneering research into supersonic and space flight.

The theme of this edition will be collaboration, a key element in the future of our industry. Like the cluster model, it is one of the levers we can count on to solve the complex challenges facing aerospace, such as sustainability, safety and efficiency.

We are currently working on a diverse program that will include leading-edge conferences, networking opportunities, interactive workshops and presentations on the latest technological advances.

The International Aerospace Innovation Forum is the perfect opportunity to keep abreast of the latest industry trends, make valuable contacts and meet your international peers. In 2022, we successfully met the challenge of bringing together more than 24 different delegations.

We can’t wait to unveil the program for these two days. Stay curious, stay innovative and get ready for what promises to be an exceptional event.

MÉLANIE LUSSIER
President

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT INTERNATIONAL AEROSPACE INNOVATION FORUM.

This event focuses on three strategic areas at the heart of the challenges facing the aerospace industry :

 Sustainable transformation
 Emerging technologies
 Innovation

THE INTERNATIONAL AEROSPACE INNOVATION FORUM WILL PRESENT ITS 9TH EDITION NEXT MAY. HOW DOES THIS EVENT STAND OUT IN CANADA AND INTERNATIONALLY ?

Every 2 years, the Innovation Forum addresses critical innovation trends, highlights the strategies deployed around the world to bring them to market, and highlights the challenges and opportunities that innovators' strategies offer for potential research and supply chain collaborations and partnerships to make them a reality.

INNOVATION IS AT THE HEART OF THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY. HOW WILL INNOVATION BE REFLECTED AT THE FORUM?

Innovation is reflected in all aspects of the event. Through the inspirational keynote presentations by renowned industry innovators blazing a path of change in aerospace, to the technical round tables and workshops of thought leaders discussing the challenges and opportunities of what our global industry is facing. International delegations made up of industry and government representatives as well as financial developers will participate in numerous networking and B2B events designed specifically to convert discussions of opportunity into plans for collaboration.

AFTER THE UNITED STATES IN 2022, THE UNITED KINGDOM WILL BE THE COUNTRY OF HONOR IN 2024. CAN YOU TELL US A FEW WORDS ABOUT UK-CANADA BILATERAL RELATIONS?

The UK and Canada share a uniquely long relationship. Both regions have important and robust aerospace industries. With that industry experiencing an important transition in relation to technological innovation and the UK transitioning into its post-Brexit position, the time is ripe to understand where the research and business priorities are, what strategies are being considered, and what opportunities are on the table for collaboration. Our governments are negotiating a Free Trade agreement. The Forum will therefore provide a valuable opportunity for participants to learn more about the scope of discussions around this agreement and how it will affect the aerospace industry.

THE PROGRAMMING PROMISES TO BE VERY EXTENSIVE. WHAT WILL BE THE MAIN THEMES COVERED?

There is a lot to exchange on as our industry is undergoing a massive transition to meet ICAO’s 2050 sustainability objectives. No one region can do it on its own, so the next edition’s theme will be on Collaboration and how the international community can work together to achieve these ambitious goals. There will be a focus on aircraft wing configurations, the maturity of different propulsion technologies, lighter and sustainable materials to name a few. The Forum will also continue to follow the advancements in eVTOL segments, discuss the challenges of supersonic flight, and investigate emerging elements like quantum computing and its potential affects on the aerospace industry.
