Highlights of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors Meeting of February 2, 2023
The TNRD held its Board of Directors Meeting in the Twin Rivers Boardroom of the TNRD Civic Building in Kamloops, B.C. The meeting was held in-person and via Zoom, and a recording of the meeting was uploaded to the TNRD’s YouTube channel. You can view the recording here.
Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2798
The Board approved first and second reading of Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2798. The proposed bylaw amendment would rezone a portion of a property in Monte Lake to allow reconstruction of a principal single-family dwelling lost to fire. The proposed bylaw amendment will be taken to a Public Hearing in conjunction with a regular Board meeting. Read the report here.
CAO Report
Chief Administrative Officer Scott Hildebrand gave an update on a number of items, including multiple 2023 budget consultations available for the public. Hildebrand stated that a Public Feedback Survey is open from February 1 - 28, 2023, and will help inform strategic planning sessions before creating the new Strategic Plan is created. Hildebrand stated that the Provisional 2023-2027 Financial Plan that was provided to the Board of Directors on January 18, 2023, is available on the TNRD YouTube channel, and is timestamped for convenience. Support for Connecting Communities BC Program
The Board voted to send a letter of support for ABC Internet Inc. which is seeking grant funding through the Connecting Communities BC (CCBC) Program, for a project to bring high speed internet connectivity to the Green Lake area. Read the request for a letter of support here.
