Pride and Indigenous History Month

June is significant to multiple communities for many reasons. On the occasion of two commemorations, Pride Month and Indigenous History Month, we recognize that IRES is an intentionally diverse group of colleagues who have experienced discriminations on the basis of gender, Q+, and as part of racialized communities. Yet, we are also the beneficiaries of colonialism, privilege and good fortune. We bring these realizations to how we embrace all members of our community and conduct our work. Learn more here.

Calling All Masters Students - Submissions to the 2022 Harmony Environmental Essay Prize | Raventrust

Sustainability issues and concepts are addressed in a multitude of undergraduate course at UBC. Throughout their studies, students are presented with a variety of sometimes contradictory thoughts, opinions, and approaches to sustainability. SCIE 420 is designed to make sense of this cacophony, and to provide students from any Faculty the opportunity to develop, critique, and synthesize their understanding of sustainability and related concepts, something which is not provided in other courses. Furthermore, students will be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem through their work on a Community Based Experiential Learning project.

Deadline: June 17, 2022
