 BC's Patient Safety Strategy:
Your Care, Our Commitment

Earlier this week, we launched BC’s Patient Safety Strategy: Your Care, Our Commitment, a five-year plan developed by Health Quality BC to strengthen patient safety and quality of care across the province.

This new plan makes BC the first province in Canada to have a comprehensive, system-wide approach to patient safety. The Strategy reflects emerging evidence, best practices and the voices of health care workers, patients, families, Indigenous partners and global and national experts.

As patient partners, you’ll be interested to know that the first pillar of the Strategy is all about empowering and engaging patients and families in advancing patient safety. It aims to give people the information, tools and supports they need to feel confident speaking up, asking questions and making informed decisions about their care.
