An investment of more than $3 million to maximize productivity

Always concerned with improving productivity, Produits Gilbert has decided to carry out a project totalling an investment of $3,140,500 in order to improve the quality of work spaces, increase productivity by automating certain processes and reduce our environmental footprint.

While in Roberval, the Minister for the Economy, Ms. Lucie Lecours, announced yesterday financial assistance in the form of loans of $1,637,400 to the company from the Government of Québec and Investissement Québec. We are pleased to have the government's support for this project.

Ultimately, it will create 10 new jobs in Roberval.

New planer at Red Stag Timber, New Zealand

Our New Zealand customer, Red Stag Timber is presently getting their second Gilbert Planer ready for start-up. The team being very experienced got the planer slide into position very smoothly. 

We thank Andrew and his team for their valuable collaboration and look forward to a second successful start up.

SFPA Expo 2021 in Atlanta

Gilbert was thrilled to finally participate in a real live event and meet with many customers during the SFPA Expo in Atlanta.

Our sales team was very satisfied with the turn out and look forward to working on many new planermill upgrade projects in the southeastern territory.

Bringing our smaller size Gilbert S Series Planer to the show attracted many customers with new project ideas. The S Series Planer is ideal for mills that want to improve efficiency and grades, but don't necessarily need to run as fast as bigger operations.

Since Gilbert positioned this model on the market in 2014, over 40 S Series Planers have been sold and installed worldwide, many of them being in the southeastern USA territory.

4^th pineapple installation : Mercer Timber continue to hit new production records 

At the end of August, Thomas, one of Gilbert's service technicians visited Mercer Timber in Germany to participate in the installation of a 4th pineapple. The goal was to run a consistent piece count of 210 to 220 lugs per minute on 5,15 m lumber through the Gilbert Feed Table and Planer. 

The installation was a success and expectations were surpassed. Gilbert is very thankful to have worldwide leader partners such as Mercer Timber.
