Online booking for lab appointments now available in Kamsack, Preeceville and Canora

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) continues to expand its online Patient Booking System for lab appointments, providing online booking for blood and urine collection and, at select sites, electrocardiograms (ECGs) and glucose tolerance testing. Kamsack Hospital, Preeceville & District Health Centre, and Canora Hospital are the latest communities to have access to the online Patient Booking System.

SHA CARES - Living our Values

Community support was on display on July 17 as Weyburn EMS staff member Jason Schmidt volunteered his time to serve as an honour guard during the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47’s 100th anniversary celebration.

 Recognition and Appreciation

SHA thanks youth volunteers for making a difference

SHA is grateful to the youth volunteers who give their time during the summer and throughout the school year. Their kindness, energy, and enthusiasm make a meaningful difference for patients, residents, families, and staff across Saskatchewan.

“The compassion, energy, and enthusiasm the youth volunteers bring each day is truly remarkable. Their presence brings comfort, connection, and moments of joy that are simply priceless,” said Dana, Victoria Hospital staff.

Youth volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels, help people find their way in facilities, support recreation programs, and spend time connecting with residents. One Regina volunteer shared that the most meaningful part was “talking with [residents] about what their lives were and connecting it with mine.”

Volunteering also inspires future careers in health care. As one Saskatoon youth said, “now that I have seen how the hospital works, I feel more empowered and ready to enter a medical field.”

Thank you to all the youth volunteers, you bring youthful warmth and joy to SHA in all you do.

Staff Safety Talk - Report work safety concerns

Why Report? There are many reasons why workers choose not to report workplace safety concerns, and one common perception is that reporting takes too much time.

To make reporting less time-consuming, a new online reporting system will be coming to MyConnection. By simplifying the reporting process, we hope to make it easier for everyone to speak up about safety concerns.

Read and post our Staff Safety Talk to learn why reporting matters, how it helps improve workplace safety, and what to expect in the upcoming communication series about Staff Safety Reporting.

Patient Safety Talk - Patient support person

Support persons are essential partners in care. Their unique knowledge, observations, and advocacy can help improve communication, prevent harm, and contribute to safer, more patient-centred care. Learn how partnering with patients, residents, and their support persons strengthens safety for all.

What valuable information has a support person provided that helped prevent harm or improve outcomes?

Please read the latest Patient Safety Talk and post/share with your teams.
