External Opportunities

Accessibility Testers, Island Health Website Redesign
Island Health is redesigning its website with a goal of making health information and services as user-friendly and accessible as possible. Several rounds of usability testing have occurred and the current focus is to ensure that the new website meets the needs of people who use assistive devices to browse the web, in particular screen readers.

Actor, KT Challenge: Implementing use of the McGill Ingestive Skills Assessment in Residential Care
Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an older person, preferably with some acting skills, who would be willing to be filmed eating a meal. The script will indicate that the person has some difficulty with eating and drinking. The film will be used as part of education to occupational therapists across Vancouver Coastal Health who complete feeding, eating and swallowing assessments in our residential care sites to facilitate best practice during these assessments.
