Read More | KIN Student Awards Night Ceremony (Undergraduate and Graduate Students) January 21, 2021 | 6:00pm-7:15pm PST The 2020 Student Awards Ceremony is an annual event that recognizes KIN students who are recipients of scholarships, awards and prizes, and also honours the generous donors and supporters of the School. For information on awards and scholarships available in the School to you, click here. The Student Awards Night typically takes place in November, but was postponed this year due to the pandemic, and is now taking place on January 21st, 2021 on Zoom. All students who are slated to receive an award should have now received their invitations and RSVPs with the Zoom link. He joined the KIN Mentorship Program to explore the health and sport industry, and to learn from new people. "I chose to apply to the Kinesiology program because it came across as one of the most welcoming, interactive, fun, and innovative programs at UBC. Now, being one semester in, even though school is online, I can confirm that all of those things are true." Read More | | The KUS BIPOC Committee - Recipient of the SLC Showcase Award Congratulations to the KUS BIPOC Committee for receiving the Student Leadership Conference Showcase Award! “The committee began this past summer, in hopes of bringing Black students, Indigenous students and students of colour together in Kinesiology.” - Shalom Howe, BIPOC Committee Founder and Coordinator. The committee has organized events such as the ‘Listening Session’ to hear experiences from BIPOC students and has enacted real change by communicating student feedback to staff and faculty. They have also amplified resources and BIPOC-owned businesses and artists through their website and on Facebook and Instagram. Breathwork is a meditative practice where you take conscious full breaths, breathing in more oxygen and energy into your body, and releasing negative emotions and toxins. 2020 was a challenging year for all of us — this session will help you start fresh.
