Pool Closure: What Took Place

It was great to welcome the community back to the pool this week!

The closure and re-opening process has been extensive, and we sincerely thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

During the closure, we received many questions about what happened, what approvals were required to re-open, and what precautionary measures are now in place.

To learn more about this past closure and the steps taken, please visit this link here.

Repair Café

Join us April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The 55 Activity Centre for a Repair Café event designed for the community to meet and bring their broken possessions to be fixed by a group of local volunteers. It’s about repairing together, learning from each other, and promoting a more sustainable approach to our belongings. Plus, it’s free of charge!

Need something fixed? This Repair Café will have fixers who can help with sewing and mending clothes, bike repairs and tune-ups, furniture repairs, small appliances and electronics, jewelry repairs and general carpentry.

Youth Entrepreneurship Market

Are you between the ages of 10 and 19?

Do you have a small business and want more opportunities to make sales or have a great idea and don't know where to start?

If so, look no further! The Squamish Youth Council is hosting a market exclusively for youth entrepreneurs. It's happening on Sunday, May 4 at the Brackendale Art Galley, and you don't want to miss it!

To apply as a vendor, please visit the application link here.

We can't wait to see all the amazing businesses Squamish youth has to offer!

Swimming lessons begin May 5, with registration opening at 8 a.m. on April 15. To ensure fair access, each child may register for only one lesson set this spring. Lesson schedules will be available to view starting April 8. Lesson schedules and registration will be available at squamish.ca/pool.

To make room for more families, we've updated the swim lesson format. This spring, all lessons will follow a once-a-week schedule over eight weeks, offered Monday through Saturday. This pilot approach, which replaces the usual two-day-per-week format, allows us to offer nearly 200 additional spaces during this high-demand period.

Thank you for your continued support. We can't wait to dive back in with you!
