After a night of intensive work at the sectoral bargaining table, your bargaining team has reached a hypothetical tentative agreement with the CPNSSS, the management bargaining committee for the health and social service sector, regarding your conditions of work.
For slightly more than a year, we’ve been working relentlessly to get better conditions of work and practice for professionals and technicians who are members of the APTS, and to ensure greater recognition of their expertise in order to counteract the labour shortage and work overload in our public system.
The gains we’ve achieved today could lead to progress in this regard and could favour attraction and retention of employees holding any of our 108 job titles. We’ve reached this point thanks to the full solidarity of APTS members.
Despite this hypothetical agreement, issues at the central bargaining table still remain unsolved. Pay issues, among others, must be settled if an unlimited Front commun general strike is to be averted in early 2024.
Once a hypothetical agreement has also been achieved at the central table, the APTS General Council will have to decide if it truly constitutes an agreement in principle to be submitted to APTS members in general assemblies.
Stay tuned for further communications about bargaining talks at the central table and, eventually, a notice of meeting for your general assembly over the next weeks. Until then, we hope you’ll take full advantage of the holiday season to rest and enjoy precious moments with your loved ones.
We won’t back down!
