This moment is a powerful reminder of how far women have come in health care and leadership. Today, we celebrate the skill, dedication and professionalism each of these team members brings to patient care every single day. Here is to progress, representation, and the incredible women who continue to shape the future of medicine. | Medication Storage, Security, and Access Audit The SHA Medication Storage, Security, and Access Audit is now available for completion. This audit is required annually (or more frequently for areas of concern) for all SHA acute care facilities based on the Accreditation Canada Medication Management Standards for organizational practice, as well as SHA requirements to align with available Medication Management Policy and procedures. The targeted timelines for implementation is the end of March 2026. Please refer to the Medication Use and Safety Interdisciplinary Committee Steering Committee (MUSIC SC) Provincial Audit Resources SharePoint site to access the work standard and audit tool. Questions can be directed to your local Medication Use and Safety Interdisciplinary Committee. | Acute Care Fall Prevention and Injury Reduction Program – fully implemented As of March 10, 2026, the new Acute Care Clinical Procedures supporting Fall Prevention and Injury Reduction have been fully implemented across the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). These procedures standardize the Fall Prevention and Injury Reduction Program across all SHA acute care sites and replace all previous fall prevention policies, work standards, and related documents used within acute care settings. The implemented procedures include: Supporting documents, forms, and staff education resources are available to support ongoing use of the program. A mandatory MyConnection learning module (CS-LM-0090) was made available to acute care areas to support staff preparation for implementation. These sessions introduce intersectionality as a practical framework for understanding how people's identities, lived experiences, and how roles intersect and shape how people experience care, the workplace, and health outcomes. Participants will explore how increased awareness of these intersections supports more compassionate, respectful, and equitable care for patients and families, while also strengthening team relationships and psychological safety. Note: March 19 event was rescheduled to March 18. The session time remains the same. View the SharePoint site below for more information. | Workshop: Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance Date: March 27 and 28 Time: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Location: Virtual The course is intended for practitioners (nurses, physicians, registered midwives) with clinical experience as part of their regular review of fetal health surveillance knowledge, skills and clinical decision making as well as new obstetrical care pro-viders as an adjunct to their facility orientation program. | Online module: Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care Paramedic There are spots available for Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) Paramedic course offered on March 18. There will be approximately 8 hours of self-learning online modules that must be completed prior to attending the facilitated virtual class on December 16. These modules can be done at your own pace. There is no cost to attend and is open to all paramedics in the province. Please forward to those you feel might be interested. | Workshop: Acute Care of the at-Risk Newborn (ACoRN) Date: April 15 and 16 Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Location: La Loche Health Centre, La Loche, SK The Acute Care of the at-risk Newborn (ACoRN) workshop provides health-care professionals with the knowledge and skills of neonatal resuscitation, assessment and management of the at-risk newborn. Participants must complete an on-line exam prior to the in-person component. The workshop utilizes simulation based education and debriefing to support team-based approach to care. Documents as part of project initiatives may be published in SHA Rounds as separate articles, as needed. Refer to the Clinical Standards Status Report for information on Clinical Standards and Procedures that are in development or have been approved and published.
