REMINDER: Seaglass Quilts with Allie McCathren

Date: Saturday, October 22th, 2022
Location: Zoom

Cost: $40 for members until the cut off0.

Allie allowed her passion for marine biology to seep in while creating this entrancing and relaxing piecing style. You will use your own fabrics to tell a story with colour or shape or randomness.

This is an excellent stash buster project, as it uses smaller pieces of fabric that do not have to match (but it does help if they are in the same color family). Allie will help with fabric selection and how to identify color families in this course. Most of the seaglass quilts she makes shift from blue to green, but the joy of these quilts is that you can make them using any colors you want. They’re also a great way to showcase those small pieces from special fabrics that you want to memorialize.

Registration Information:
To register, email education@vancouvermodernquiltguild.ca to let the Education Committee know you want to participate. Your space will be held once your payment is received by the Treasurer.

To make the payment for the course, email  treasurer@vancouvermodernquiltguild.ca

VancouverMQG 2022 Showcase Upadte

The Showcase Team would like to give a BIG shout out to all the members who submitted their gorgeous quilts for our Showcase — thank you very much.

However, less than 50% of our membership submitted quilts and we’d like to enable more members to participate.

We are announcing a one month deadline — members can register quilts by Sunday, July 10th, midnight.

Your Quilt top and Quilt back needs to be completed, but you have until the August meeting to finish the quilt (quilting, labelling and adding the quilt sleeve). Full details are included in our Quilt Registration page on our blog. If anyone is experiencing technical or logistical difficulties in entering their quilts, please reach out to the Showcase Team.
