OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS

Our teams are currently working on preparing the ice in order to be able to open the outdoor skating rinks as quickly as possible. Consult the Info-rinks page for the ice conditions.

Good news! We will also be opening an ice rink at Parc Godin. This year, to encourage distancing, this rink will be an ice ring.

While in the Red zone, as previously mentioned, the chalets will be accessible for toilets only. Make sure you are ready. You can use the outdoor benches to put on your skates.

To find out the opening hours, visit the skating rinks page of our website.

Ice hockey

Following the Government of Quebec's announcement on December 15, hockey games will now be permitted on outdoor rinks, with a maximum number of  8 players only.

PLAYGROUNDS:
Closed for the season

Since the cold temperatures have arrived, we would like to advise you that the playgrounds in the parks are now closed for the season.

That being said, the parks remain open and we encourage you to use them! Why not build a fort or a snowman? Have a snowball fight, play tag (running is harder in the snow!) Or explore and spot animal tracks? Be creative!

Why are the playgrounds closed in winter?

Several organizations, such as the Alliance québécoise du loisir public and the Institut National de Santé publique du Québec, recommend closing play modules in winter for the safety of our children. Here are some of the explanations:

  • Shock absorbing surfaces harden when the temperature drops and no longer play their role.
  • Winter clothes : cords or ties can get caught in module elements, causing fractures or suffocation.
  • Mittens prevent a good grip or secure grip.
  • Any bare skin that sticks to a frozen metal surface may be torn off.
  • Snow, ice or freezing rain can make playing surfaces very slippery.
