This week’s educator resources, "Train Your Brain," offer tools to help students build mental wellness skills, focusing on self-care, empathy, positive relationships, and resilience.

Educator Resources:

  1. Developed collaboratively by Alberta Health Services (Edmonton Zone) in partnership with Edmonton Public School Board and Edmonton Catholic School District, the Junior High Mental Health Kit: Be Kind to Yourself and Others (Grades 7-9) provides resources to help students build mental wellness skills. It focuses on self-care, empathy, and positive relationships to support students’ mental health and resilience.

  2. The Teen Brain, produced by MindUP, reveals the rapid development of teenage brains, highlighting their emotional brilliance and capacity for learning. Featuring insights from teens, doctors, and psychologists, the 10-minute film provides tools to help adolescents navigate this transformative stage.

  3. Produced by the Greater Good Science Center, Train Your Brain to Be Kinder encourages kindness by guiding you to send kind thoughts to someone you love—and someone you may struggle with—with help from student examples.
