THE RANKIN REPORT

Feedback for the Fall Session

Dear Timberlea-Prospect Residents,

I hope your family has settled well into your fall routines and that your children are happy to be back in school with their friends.

Today brings me great pride and pleasure to realize the gains achieved because of years of hard work by sharing that the opening of the Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre is planned for November 20, 2023. You will find more details about the centre below in this newsletter.

As our community continues to grow, ensuring well-planned modern infrastructure is in place to serve the Timberlea-Prospect residents will always remain an integral part of my vision to build more livable, vibrant, and inclusive communities.

The Legislature has been called back into session on Thursday October 12th. This provides me and my colleagues the opportunity to monitor and question the executive branches policies and actions on important issues that have a direct impact on Nova Scotians.

If you have any issues or concerns you would like address on the floor of the Legislature, please contact my office.

All the best,

Iain Rankin

Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre

This beautiful well-planned facility is planned to open on November 20th and will have standard outpatient hours that include:

  • space for primary care services
  • diagnostic imaging such as x-rays
  • blood and specimen collection
  • ultrasounds, and bone density scans
  • a dialysis unit
  • post-surgery or post-treatment follow-up appointments

As your MLA I am extremely proud of the work accomplished leading up to the announcement I took part in, in April of 2017, to secure the location of the Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre, right here in Timberlea-Prospect! My colleagues and government staff agreed with me when I brought this forward, that it made sense to expand services out to where a growing number of people live and where major highways converge, easing the traffic and difficulty of finding parking downtown.
