IN DREAMLAND: ANDRÉ ROBITAILLE AND MAX POLLAK

The I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra is reminding you of its upcoming concerts on December 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Salle Pierre-Mercure at the Centre Pierre-Péladeau. For the occasion, the ensemble receives the renowned actor André Robitaille who will guide us, as reciting texts by Rébecca Déraspe, in a unique musical program, leading us from the shadows to the light. Also on stage, Max Pollak, body percussionist and tap dancer, and Mélissa Lavergne, congas, percussion instruments that are widespread in Latin music, but that go very well with other musical styles. André Robitaille
Actor

André Robitaille is a well-known contributor to the 100 Limite and Bons baisers de France broadcasts and is also a formidable animator, seducing both young people and adults. A lively and lively mastermind, he has conducted several television games, hosted the Gala des Prix Gémeaux in 2007 and, as an actor, stands out in both youth and drama series. He also performs well in theatre, participating in more than twenty productions as an actor and directing several comedies. Her excellence as a host has earned her five MetroStar and eight Prix Gémeaux.

Max Pollak
Percussive dancer and tap dancer

Max Pollak is featured on a recent American postage stamp that pays tribute to the art of tap dancing. Combining body percussion, singing and tap dancing, Max has performed on all five continents with some of the greatest tap-dancing, Latin, jazz and classical artists. As a choreographer and composer, he is also co-creator of the hit show Off-Broadway Carmen, to Havana and Back. Max has won the highest honours in the field of tap dance; he is also an educator and writer.

Mélissa Lavergne
Congas

Mélissa Lavergne has always worked in the arts, first as a dancer and then as a multi-percussionist. Her constant thirst for learning led her to travel the world to improve her knowledge and pass it on. She wrote the music for the film Vic et Flo ont vu un ours by Denis Côté, was also the musical director of the show Sur invitation seulement on TVA, and a music columnist at Entrée principale on Radio-Canada television. She recently published her first novel, L'Iroko, at Québec Amérique.

Rébecca Déraspe
Author

Rébecca Déraspe graduated in dramatic writing from the National Theatre School of Canada. She is the author of several plays performed and translated around the world, in addition to being autrice in residence at the Théâtre la Licorne. She won the 2018 Best Young Audience Performance Critic Award for her play Je suis William and the 2010 BMO Award for Playwright for her play Deux ans de votre vie. She is the winner of the 2020 Michel Tremblay Award, from the CEAD Foundation, for her play Les qui s'ont evaporatés.
