Renewal 2022 | Masking Guidance | Board Meeting

Thank you for renewing your licence!

COBC values the work that you do to uphold the high standards of opticianry that British Columbians rely on. We appreciate your diligence in renewing your licence on time, and we're pleased to have you with us as we head into a new year!

If you've got a colleague who hasn't renewed their licence yet, encourage them to do so by April 30 to avoid being suspended.

Updated masking guidance from the PHO

As restrictions related to COVID-19 have begun to ease across the country, the Order that required masking in indoor public spaces has been rescinded by BC's Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry. However, on April 1, COBC received guidance from Dr. Henry that masks should continue to be worn while in close proximity in healthcare settings. COBC has confirmed that this is a recommendation, not an official order.

Did you know?

You can choose to drop a licence designation (for instance, your contact lens fitting licence) if you don't feel that you currently need it. However, if you wish to get that designation back in the future, you'll need to go through an assessment process if more than three years have passed since you dropped it.
