Guest Speaker
Cristina De Miranda

The guest speaker at our February meeting will be Cristina De Miranda. She has been quilting since 2018 and has proudly served on the Board of the Toronto Modern Quilt Guild as Secretary and Vice-President.

She runs Ships and Violins, "Canadian company dedicated to making unique, well designed and thoughtfully arranged quilt patterns for the adventurous modern quilter".

Black White Triangle Stripe Block

March’s block lotto will be black and white solid fabrics, sewn into triangles and stripes.  It touches on the modern quilt ideas of:

    • High contrast and graphic 
    • Improvisational piecing
    • Minimalism
    • Negative space
    • Modern traditionalism

Any solid black or white quilting cotton.

NEW QuiltCon Roundup: Our March meeting will feature an overview of QuiltCon 2025 (Phoenix, AZ, Feb 20-23) . Marnie Burnham will be coordinating a presentation to share what was seen and heard at the Event, including images of the winning quilts (and personal favourites) and a report on the lectures, workshops and events as well as trends for 2025. She also hopes this will include a show and share of VMQG quilts featured in the Show.

If you are attending QuitlCon, Marnie will be reaching out for your 'Best of QuiltCon' images and experiences.
