WHAT'S ON AT LET'S TALK SQUAMISH

Accessibility Plan

We are creating an Accessibility Plan to identify and work towards removing accessibility barriers related to District infrastructure, programs, services and information. We want to hear from residents to find out what accessibility barriers they, or someone they care for, encounter when accessing District facilities, infrastructure, services or information. The community is invited to identify accessibility challenges through the following options:

  • Register for a focus group to share your accessibility experiences;
  • Complete the survey;
  • Show us where accessibility barriers exist in physical spaces by marking a map. Maps will be available at the Library and Brennan Park Recreation Centre, as well as online;
  • Complete a comment card available at the Library and Brennan Park Recreation Centre.

RECYCLING TIP OF THE WEEK

Did you know? 35% of what ended up at the Squamish landfill from residential garbage bins could have been recycled in 2022 could have been recycled? Don’t let recyclables take up precious and limited space within our municipal landfill.

If you are not sure where and how something could be recycled look it up in the Waste Wizard!

The Repair Café is BACK May 6 and we need volunteers!

Repair Cafés are free meeting places for repairing things (together). At the Repair Café you will find the expertise, tools and materials required to help you make many of the repairs you need. Volunteer fixers will be on hand to help and guide the repairs. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or even lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.

Our volunteer fixers are the backbone of the program. Without them, the Repair Café would not be possible. If you sew, mend or fix small appliances, repair jewelry, small furniture, or toys and want to help out your community - we would love to hear from you! Please contact Laura at zerowaste@squamish.ca to lend a hand.
