Speed Limit Lowered to 40 km/h

In response to numerous citizen requests and to improve road safety, the municipal council is proud to announce the adoption of its by-law concerning speed limits throughout municipal territory. It lowers the speed limit to 40 km/h on local and residential streets, unless indicated otherwise. Watch for new signage!

This change affects the entire territory, with the exception of collector arteries, surrounding school zones and certain parks, where the current limit is expected to be maintained. Please note that the roads that fall under the jurisdiction of the ministère des Transports (MTQ) are also excluded from this new regulation.

We thank you for your cooperation.

CHANGE THE TIME, CHANGE THE BATTERIES!

On the night of November 5th to 6th, we will turn the clocks back one hour! Why not take this opportunity to change the batteries in your smoke detectors?

Here are a few tips from the Fire Department:

  • It is recommended to have 1 smoke detector on each floor, including the basement, the hallway near the bedrooms, in each bedroom where the occupants sleep with the door closed and near the staircase.
  • Check your smoke detectors by pressing the test button for a few seconds to hear the beep. If your smoke detector is connected to a central monitoring station, notify them first before testing.
  • Check the smoke detector’s capacity to detect smoke by approaching it with a candle that has just been extinguished and is producing smoke.
