Happening this Friday: Exam Jam!

Get a head start on final exams and assignments with Exam Jam! Happening from 10 am to 4 pm on December 8 in the Student Learning Hub, Exam Jam is a free, drop-in event with sessions designed to help you prepare for finals. Whether you’re looking for test reviews, tips on how to write essay exams, or just want company while you study, Exam Jam has tons of options to help you feel your best for final exams.

Dec. 8: Technology petting zoo

UBCO students are invited to try a variety of assistive technology and ergonomic equipment at the Inclusive Technology Lab in LIB 101. Stop by on December 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

Want to volunteer during winter break?

Join other UBCO students and get involved in your community! Volunteering is a great way to build your network, enhance your resume, and gain experience. There are a variety of opportunities to volunteer over the winter break, whether you’re looking to help out with a quick 3 to 4-hour shift or over multiple days.

Join the UBC Student Ambassador team

Do you love being a part of UBC and want to share your favourite stories with future students? Looking for a campus job that will help you gain public speaking skills and make new friends from across campus? Apply to be a Campus Tour Student Ambassador!

December is Food for Fitness month

Throughout December, bring in a non-perishable food item in exchange for admission into the Hangar Fitness Centre, a Group Fitness Class, or a Drop-in at the Gymnasium. Bring your non-perishable food item to the Customer Service desk to make your donation.

Food for Fitness is a food drive brought to you by UBCO Recreation and the Pantry (the student food bank). All food items donated during Food for Fitness will be donated to the Pantry.

Go Global deadline is next week – get moo-ving!

Are you interested in finding out more about how to incorporate an exchange or international learning experience into your degree? Maybe you want to spend a semester somewhere like Scotland? Well then - just like this highland cow, it's time to get moo-ving towards your destination!

The Go Global deadline is Wednesday, December 13, and Go Global has extended drop-in hours available until then. Stop by to see a Go Global Advisor today and discuss your application for a 2024-25 exchange!

Move UBC grant applications

Do you have an exciting idea to get the UBC community moving but need some funds to make it happen? Move UBC grants of up to $1,500 are now available for UBC students who are planning projects or initiatives aimed at promoting wellbeing by moving more!

Applications are currently open and will be accepted on an ongoing basis until funds have been fully allocated.

That’s what [We] Said Journal: Call for submissions

UBCO’s feminist student-led journal That’s What [We] Said is seeking submissions for our 2024 publication. The theme for this year’s journal is Pleasure. We are dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices and curating content that resonates with a wide range of people and experiences. Submissions may take any form. We accept digital copies of essays, poetry, visual artworks, videos, music compositions, and many other formats. Non-academic, as well as academic, submissions are welcomed and encouraged. All members of the UBCO community and beyond are welcome to submit.
