City Launches ‘Ask the Mayor’ Feature on Engage Kimberley
The City of Kimberley and Mayor McCormick are excited to announce the launch of a new online initiative, "Ask the Mayor," hosted on the Engage Kimberley platform. This new program is designed to provide residents with direct access to the Mayor, to get answers to their questions about city operations, validate or dispel rumors, and gain insight into Council decision-making.
The five-year run of the popular Brown Bag Lunch sessions ended abruptly with the onset of COVID-19. Though the Brown Bag Lunch won’t return, the underlying reason for it remains—an opportunity to provide residents with a deeper understanding of the City’s operations. The feedback from past attendees highlighted the value of these sessions, with many expressing how much they learned about the city's workings.
Mayor McCormick reflected on this change, stating, "To maintain the value of the Brown Bag Lunch, but broaden the opportunity for more participants and therefore more questions, we are moving to an online version! Ask the Mayor is the place to ask questions and get a quick response to help avoid the rumor train. Answers and feedback will be published within 1-3 days. Nothing is out of bounds…as long as things are kept civil! Thanks in advance for engaging."
Residents can access "Ask the Mayor" on the Engage Kimberley platform by visiting www.engagekimberley.ca.
