January - A Month to Reset Your Business

January offers local businesses a valuable reset. With a naturally slower pace across the community, it’s a time to refocus, plan ahead and strengthen connections with customers and peers.

Whether it’s refining winter offerings, refreshing your space or online presence, or taking time to plan for the year ahead, January provides space to do the work that’s often hard to fit in during busier months.

A thoughtful January can help set the foundation for a strong year ahead. Happy New Year!

Eco-Tips: Helping to Keep Okotoks Idle Free

Contrary to popular belief, idling your car isn’t the best way to warm it up - driving is. Even on cold days, just a couple minutes of idling is enough before you hit the road. Natural Resources Canada notes that if every Canadian avoided three minutes of idling a day, CO₂ emissions could be reduced by 1.4 million tonnes each year.

Is idling an issue outside your business? Free "Our Community is Idle Free" signs are available to help remind drivers to turn off their engines. Please email environment@okotoks.ca to request one.
