Your voice and input matters! Take our Downtown parking and tourism-based parking survey to help us understand the various parking needs and challenges with parking. Your input will directly influence the development of the District’s draft Parking Management Plan. The survey is available in multiple lanaguges and the deadline is January 15, 2025.

The survey includes questions specific to:

  • Downtown residents
  • Downtown business owners
  • Employees of Downtown businesses
  • Residents of SeaANDSky
  • The broader community and neighbouring areas

MAYOR'S DROP-IN

Please join Mayor Armand Hurford and Councillor Jenna Stoner for casual community conversations among fellow Squamish residents at Municipal Hall. All are welcome!

All 2025 Business Licenses Renewal Notices have been mailed and must be renewed before December 31, 2024. Please note that Municipal Hall will be closed from December 23 to December 27. Payment options include:

Online! Visit squamish.ca/payonline and use your Account Number and Access Code found on your renewal notice. If you do not have your Account Number or Access Code, email businesslicence@squamish.ca. Please allow 24-48 hours to receive the information.

In-person at Municipal Hall (37955 Second Avenue) or the Building Department in Municipal Hall, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Accepted payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Debit, or cheque.

Please be advised that the District of Squamish no longer accepts credit card payments over the phone.

Due to ongoing disruptions from the Canada Post strike, we strongly recommend renewing your licence online at squamish.ca/online-services.

2025 DOG LICENCES

An account number is required in order to renew your licence. Account numbers are listed on your renewal notice. If you do not have your account number, please contact Community Bylaw Services at bylaw@squamish.ca.

Residents can renew their dog licences for a discounted fee before January 31. The January 31 discount date is set by bylaw and is the same date each year.

Dog licences may also be renewed in-person at Municipal Hall and the RCMP Detachment Front Counter (1000 Finch Drive) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

UTILITY AND PROPERTY TAXES

With a MyCity login, you can access your Property Taxes, Utilities, and Business Licence accounts. If you already have a Squamish Recreation Services program registration account, you can use the same login. Your folio number and access code required for registration can be found on your 2024 Property Tax Notice or Reminder Statement.

Log in to MyCity to:

  • View account information.
  • Sign up to receive invoices and notices by email.
  • View status of applications and milestones (including inspections in progress and pre-occupancy checklist detail).

To access MyCity visit login.my.squamish.ca

Property owners are responsible for payment of utilities regardless of whether or not a notice is received. New owners should ensure utilities are paid on their property. If there is any doubt, please contact us.

The District is reminding Building, Planning, Engineering and Public Works customers that as of December 31, we will longer accept credit card payments over the phone. The following payment options are available:

  • In-person payment at 37955 Second Avenue using a credit card (maximum $2,000), debit card, cheque, or cash.
  • After-hours cheque drop box at 37955 Second Avenue.
  • Mailing a cheque to: 37955 Second Avenue PO Box 310 Squamish, BC V8B 0A3

When submitting a payment, please include your contact information, folder number (e.g., building permit number, development permit number), or your address and the reason for payment (e.g., water on/off, bulk water provision).

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC AND NOISE IMPACTS

LANDFILL CONSTRUCTION

Construction at the landfill transfer station began on December 9, and we anticipate major delays for 1-2 weeks. Impacts include limited access to the transfer station and bins, with one car allowed at a time. Special items not accepted include tires (accepted for free at OK Tire and Kal Tire), large appliances (accepted at ASM Squamish) and small electronics and appliances (accepted at GFL depot on Queensway). Disposal of Invasive Species will not be accepted during this period.

Normal operating hours will remain in effect, but we kindly ask the public to limit waste drop-offs during this time.

Sea to Sky Eagle Awareness Program

Interested in learning more about Bald Eagles and their habitat in Squamish?

Join us on Saturday, December 14, at The 55 Activity Centre from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for an engaging session in partnership with the Sea to Sky Eagle Awareness Program.

Discover everything you want to know about these incredible birds as Dr. Judith Knapp and Wolfgang Pauli share fascinating facts about the bald eagles that winter in Squamish. 

Holiday Sweater Public Skate

Join us for a holiday sweater skate on Saturday, December 21, from 12 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to gather friends, socialize and enjoy skating in a fun environment. Don your best ugly sweater and get into the holiday spirit.

Youth Stick and Puck (Ages 13-18)

Youth are invited to practice their stick-handling and skating skills in a supervised environment during the school holiday break. Helmet, gloves, and stick are required. Please note: no goalies or scrimmages are allowed. 

A parental consent form must be completed prior to attendance. Registration opens 72 hours before the program start. Check the online schedule for details at squamish.ca/rec.
